Great Football Adventures returns to The Social with more stories of the beautiful game from some of the world's most unique places.
Steve Claridge has an extensive professional playing career including a Football League Cup win with Leicester City. He's played at all levels of English football and has registered over 1,000 appearances. Now working as a pundit and coach, he'll be joined by Ian Ridley for a Q&A.
Johnny McKinstry is a UEFA Pro Licence coach who's managed the Rwanda and Sierra Leonne national teams. Most recently he's been working in Lithuania.
Alex Stewart is a football journalist who leads on content for Tifo Football. He'll be discussing Chigoli - a football academy in Africa that's changing the game.
In 1999 The Social opened in Little Portland Street. The brainchild of a record company whose offshoots included a hugely successful underground club night, The Social was set up with a simple manifesto – to provide great music and better booze to anyone who fancied tripping through the doors.
15 years later and still run by the original team who created it – Heavenly Recordings & The Breakfast Group – the bar is an award winning London institution. Designed back then by a partnership of David Adjaye and Will Russell (now of Pentagram) with the proviso of withstanding nuclear attack or – at the very least – the worst that people could chuck at it, The Social has launched over a million hugely successful hangovers.
